Uniform Change!

You heard it here first! Effective 2/23/99, Officers will be able to wear whichever tan uniform they want to wear, regardless of the season. I.E., you can wear a short sleeve shirt whenever you want. And, "neckwear" will only be required when the blue jacket is worn. This is now official.

You will not see any CHP logos, badges or patches on my page. The Commissioner has to approve their use. I figure he is busy enough already without me giving him more to do.

To the right is the logo of the California Association of Highway Patrolmen (CAHP). Yes, we do have women in the CHP, but the association is not politically correct enough to change the name.

The CAHP has a magazine called "The California Highway Patrolman". You can visit it by clicking on its name. I write articles and draw cartoons for the magazine from time to time

On June 16th, 1998, I started doing traffic reports in the mornings for the CHP on KGTV - Ch.10 in San Diego. You can see me Monday-Friday between 11:00am and Noon, and 5:00pm and 6:00pm.
